You should have received a notice, often referred to as a goodbye letter, from your current servicer explaining that your loan is being transferred to Valon Mortgage. This notice includes your transfer date, which is the date when Valon officially becomes your new servicer.
Here is an approximate timeline of your servicing transfer.
Date | Expected Communication or Event |
~15 days before transfer date |
(Only certain homeowners) If Fannie Mae purchased your loan, you may receive a letter from them that looks like this. This is not your goodbye letter. |
~7-14 days before transfer date |
By this time, you should have received the goodbye letter your current servicer sent notifying you about the servicing transfer. This tells you the transfer date and may include your Valon loan number. We'll also send you a pre-transfer letter and/or email introducing ourselves and further explaining your transfer timeline. Additionally, you should be able to check in on some information about your transfer and update your email if necessary at valon.com/transfer. |
Transfer date | Welcome to Valon! Your loan has officially been transferred to us. You can register for an online account with your Valon loan number. Valon can also begin accepting payments on this date. |
0-3 days after transfer date |
If we have your email address on file, we'll send you a welcome email with information about your loan (including your new Valon loan number) and resources for setting up an online account. |
~15-20 days after transfer date | You should receive a welcome letter in the mail around this time. The letter contains important information about your loan and its transfer. |
2 months after transfer date |
Up until this date, you will not be subject to late fees or negative credit reporting by Valon. |
