An authorized third party (ATP) is someone you trust to access your loan information and interact with Valon directly. This can be a single person, multiple people, a company, or another group. Many people trust family members, or people they live with, to communicate with Valon on their behalf.
What happens when I make someone an ATP?
Once you make someone an ATP, you authorize Valon to release, furnish, provide, exchange, and request information related to your loan to the ATP. Keep in mind that anyone is able to make a payment on your behalf, so third-party authorization is not required for making payments.
Adding an ATP Online (recommended)
The fastest option is to add an ATP through your online account. If you’re not already registered, you can sign up at valon.com/transfer. Once logged into your account, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the "Settings" page
- Scroll to find the "Authorizations" card
- Select “Add an authorized third party”
- Fill out the requested information about the ATP
- Select “Add Authorization”
When you authorize someone online, you’ll also have the opportunity to include a custom end date when you want to stop their access to your account. This option is available within step 4 above.
Adding an ATP with a Form
A second option is to add an ATP by submitting our form. Once you’ve completed and signed the form, send it to support@valon.com. You can find the form at the end of the article and download it directly. Please allow 3-5 days to receive confirmation that we’ve fulfilled your request.
Adding an ATP over the Phone
You can add an ATP by calling us and providing verbal consent to give someone access to your account. This authorization is only sufficient for one business day. If you wish to authorize someone for a longer period, you must authorize them by going online or by completing the form.
Removing an ATP Online
You can remove an ATP from your account at any time. Log into your account and follow these steps:
- Navigate to the "Settings" page
- Find the "Authorizations" card
- Find the authorization you’d like to remove
- Select “Remove”
💡 Tip: You can use these same steps to edit the end date for a specific ATP. Instead of selecting “Remove,” you’ll just select “Edit.”
