If you decide to switch your property insurance policy to another carrier, let us know right away so that we can keep our records up to date and your escrow account running smoothly (if you have one). Here's what to do.
Send Us the New Policy
After you've switched insurance carriers, you or your insurance agent should email a PDF copy of the new policy to valon@ihaveinsurance.com (please include your loan number in the email) or mail a copy to:
Valon Mortgage, Inc.
PO Box 29415
Phoenix, AZ 85038
If your insurance is escrowed, we'll process the policy and make the payment for you.
💡 Tip: Make sure the new insurance policy has Valon listed as the mortgagee. This allows us to receive important notices and bills from your carrier.
Cancel the Old Policy
You or your insurance agent should also cancel the old policy, and then send the policy cancelation notice to valon@ihaveinsurance.com or to the mailing address above. This will prevent us from paying any extra bills related to your old policy.
What if Valon already paid the bill for my old policy?
If we don't receive notice that you've switched insurance carriers or canceled your old policy, we may make a payment on your old policy to ensure there's no lapse in coverage and your home stays protected. In that event, you can request a refund from your old carrier.
💡 Tip: If you have an escrow account, we recommend depositing the refund into your escrow account.
