Want to set up a bank account online? Here’s how:
- Log in to your account
- Go to the “Settings” page
- Scroll down to the “Billing” section
- You’ll see the option to “Add Bank Account”
You can also navigate to the "Add Bank Account" option simply by following the steps to make a payment online.
We offer two options for setting up your bank account online. Both options allow you to make a payment immediately after adding your account. Here’s how they each work.
Instant Verification using Plaid (recommended)
Plaid allows us to securely authenticate bank account information. Think of it as an easy, safe way to log in to your bank account directly from our system. By selecting this option, you will be able to search for your bank and log in as if you were logging in on your bank’s website. You don't need to have your routing number or account number available to use this option.
Plaid uses end-to-end data encryption, strong authentication protocols, and robust monitoring to protect and secure your information. Over 11,000 financial companies use Plaid (learn more).
Manual Verification
The second way to connect your bank account is by selecting the "Manual Verification" option and providing the account number and routing number for your bank account.
💡 Tip: If you see a $0.00 transaction from Valon after setting up your bank account, this is simply part of our required account validation process.
Invalid Bank Accounts
If the bank account you added comes back invalid, we'll send you an email alert. Any payments made from an invalid account will not be successfully applied. Similarly, if you schedule future payments or set up AutoPay with an invalid bank account, these will be canceled.
The most common reason a bank account is determined to be invalid is that the provided routing number or account number is incorrect. We recommend double-checking your routing number and account number, and then trying to add your bank account again.
