On July 25, 2023, we updated our password requirements as part of our continuous efforts to enhance security for our homeowners. Accordingly, we’re asking all homeowners with online accounts to change their password to meet our new password requirements. If you have an online Valon account, the next time you log in you'll be shown the new requirements and prompted to change your password.
Password Tips
Here are some quick and helpful tips to choose a secure password (guidance by CISA):
- Use different passwords on different systems and accounts.
- Develop mnemonics to remember complex passwords.
- Don’t use words that can be found in any dictionary of any language.
- Consider using a password manager program to keep track of your passwords.
- Don’t tell anyone your passwords and watch for attackers trying to trick you into revealing your passwords through email or calls.
How to Further Secure Your Account
We offer and strongly encourage using multi-factor authentication (MFA) for your online account. When MFA is enabled, at login you'll enter your password as well as a security code that is sent to your cell phone through text message. This additional layer of security keeps your personal details safe if your email is ever compromised or someone learns or guesses your password.
